Javier Meier

Project Designer

“Architecture isn’t only about space, light, and air but also about politics, culture, and ecology.”

Javier’s background is international and diverse. He was born in Germany, where he lived until age six. He then moved to Peru until age twelve, when he migrated to the United States. Having been immersed in various cultures at an early age gave Javier a unique global perspective and an appreciation for authenticity. While attending USC, Javier continued his worldwide studies and traveled throughout Asia to China, Japan and Korea. He intimately examined their architecture and urbanism to further his international understanding. Javier’s personal design philosophy continues to evolve as he builds on his academic foundation with real world experiences. He believes that research and collaboration are crucial to his approach to design. For him, architecture isn’t only about space, light, and air but also about politics, culture, and ecology. Javier joined Abramson Teiger Architects in 2014, where he currently works on high-end residential and commercial projects.

Javier’s contrasting German and Peruvian backgrounds keep life interesting for him on a daily basis. He constantly stresses about time, but is always late; he loves to dance, but has two left feet.
